We have discussed college visits before. Spring break for you high schoolers can be quite useful to trod the sod of candidate colleges, assuming, of course, that Mom and/or Dad can also get a spring break from their work that coincides with your time away from class. Although you may groan when thoughts of long boring hours in the car with your parents filter into your head, you have to realize that visiting a college before making a decision to enroll there is absolutely critical.
Sylvan Learning has put out a list of college-visit tips (which include a gentle pitch for their SAT-prep services) that add some dimension to those I have listed here previously. Although aimed generally at parents, the tips can be easily adapted by high school juniors and seniors. Here they are:
