Does Basic English Class Count?

Question:

I took 4 years of English, but freshman year I took general/core English. All the other years I took College Prep English. On University of Connecticut website it says 4 years of English. I was just wondering if it mattered what level English I took. 1 year general English 3 years CP English.

Any four years of English are acceptable. The more rigorous a course load, the more it appeals to admission officials. But taking the basic English in 9th grade followed by three years of College Prep certainly fulfills the UConn requirement.
