It's been an amazing week! The Great College Admissions Scandal of 2019 broke a week ago -- in the midst of the annual period of admission decisions -- and rocks on and on. An historic College Confidential forum thread, now approaching 3,000 (!) posts, has examined every aspect of this “pay to play" fiasco, from both a parent's and student's perspective.
Of course the media have been having a field day with all of this, too. In fact, it's rare that one can click on a news site, even now, without seeing some kind of story linked to the scandal. Students are suing colleges, parents are suing colleges, colleges are rescinding admissions, etc. It's a higher education three-ring circus.
